ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Grant Loven had a goal and three assists as East Grand Forks beat Hermantown 7-3 in the Class 1A Boys Hockey Championship.

It's the first hockey title for East Grand Forks.

Dixon Bowen, Eddie Eades, Jace Pesch, Reed Corbid, Cale Mack and Tanner Tweten also scored Saturday for the Green Wave (28-2-1).

Josh Weber had 22 saves.

Scott Wasbotten, Parker Hawk and Jared Zeleznikar scored for Hermantown (24-5-2).

East Grand Forks scored five of its goals in the second period.

Trailing 1-0, East Grand Forks' Bowen and Eades scored 67 seconds apart. Pesch made it 3-1 about three minutes later.

Loven and Corbid scored about two minutes apart late in the frame for a 5-1 lead.

It's the fifth straight year the Hawks have lost the championship game.
