University of Minnesota junior guard Rachel Banham has been named to the 2014 Dawn Staley Award Watch List by the Phoenix Club of Philadelphia. Established in 2013, the Dawn Staley Award recognizes the top guard in NCAA Division I women's basketball.

Named for three-time Olympic gold medalist and Philadelphia native Dawn Staley, the award will be given annually to a player who exemplifies the skills that Staley possessed throughout her career, including ball-handling, scoring, her ability to distribute the basketball and her will to win.

Notre Dame's Skylar Diggins was the inaugural recipient of the Dawn Staley Award last season.

The award winner will be announced during the week of the Final Four, with the award ceremony set to take place in April at the Union League of Philadelphia.
