Rochester scored early and late to take a 10-2 win over Alexandria on Sunday afternoon.

The Honkers wasted no time taking the lead on Father’s Day, as a 2-run blast by L.J. Brewster and a run-scoring single by Casey Fletcher to grab an early 3-0 advantage. Those runs would be all that Rochester pitching would need, as starter Spencer Greer cruised through seven scoreless innings, scattering four hits and striking out five.

Rochester scored again in the fifth and in the seventh, but would really get the bats going in the eight. Two runs were already in before Casey Fletcher doubled to center to clear the bases. The double capped off a 4-4 day at the plate for Fletcher and he drove in his fifth run of the game.

With the win, the Honkers move to 11-9 on the season. They will look to improve on that record Monday night, with the first of two against the division leading Willmar Stingers. First pitch is slated for 7:05.
