(Rochester, Minn.)— The Rochester Honkers shutout the Mankato Moondogs 4-0 last night in a quick 2 hour and ten minute game at Mayo Field.

Starting pitcher Ryan Fritze pitched 7 innings, allowing just 3 hits and no runs.

Rochester faced some strong pitching themselves again from Mankato, collecting just 5 hits in the game, but slugged it out when it counted most. In the bottom of the 2nd inning, Karl Sorenson ripped a two-run homerun over the left field wall on a 2-0 count from MoonDogs starter Ethan Greene.

The Honkers are now 7-3 and head to Duluth for a two game series with the Huskies tonight and tomorrow. The next home game is Sunday afternoon against Mankato. Sunday’s first pitch will be at 1:05 p.m.
