The Honkers finished up their road trip Wednesday night in Mankato. Rochester's 5 runs on 7 hits wasn't enough, as Mankato was spraying the ball all over the field, recording 10 runs on 12 hits.

Spencer Greer received his first loss of the season on the mound. Greer came in, in relief for the Honkers, pitching 1 1/3 innings and giving up 2 earned runs. In his first start of the season, Joshua Pigg went 4 1/3 innings, giving up 3 earned runs on 8 hits. CJ Santoyo and Ryan Boelter also pitched in relief for the Honkers.

Joe DeRoche-Duffin went yard for the second time this season. Though DeRoche-Duffin did strike out in his other three at-bats Wednesday night, he still holds a respectable .313 average. Dakota Larson went 1-3 on the night, blasting a 3-run shot in the second inning. Larson pushed his average up to .300 on the year and has 7 RBI's. Alex Schultz maintained his red hot start, going 2-5 on the night. Schultz is now hitting .455, and holds the second best average in the Northwoods League.

Rochester's pitching inconsistency and three errors in the field proved to be to much to overcome on Wednesday night. The Honkers return to Mayo Field tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. for night game against Mankato. Hopefully they will clean up the defensive miscues and avenge Wednesday's loss.
