Honkers Fighting for Playoffs in Final Week

With six games remaining, the Rochester Honkers sit just 2.5 games behind Waterloo for the second North Division playoff spot. The Willmar Stingers have already clinched a playoff berth with the best record of the first half, so the top second-half team will take on the Stingers in the North Division playoffs.

Four teams sit between Rochester and Waterloo for the postseason. The Honkers will have a chance to move past St. Cloud Monday and Wednesday, and travel to Mankato for games Thursday and Friday to try to move even further up in the standings.

The task will be made tougher by Waterloo's schedule. The Bucks will host last place Thunder Bay for two games and then travel to Alexandria for two games against the second-to-last-place team in the division. If the Honkers keep it close until the weekend, the chances rise as Rochester will travel to Alexandria and first-place Willmar may be fighting for home field advantage in their weekend series against the Bucks.
