It took an extra inning to get the job done, but the Honkers were able to hold off Thunder Bay on Monday night. The Honkers were able to keep an undefeated record in the second half of the season, and move to 5-0.

Joe DeRoche-Duffin absolutely crushed the ball Monday night. He smacked 2 homers and knocked in 3 RBI's to help Rochester to a 5-4 victory. DeRoche-Duffin added to his team-leading 7 home runs. Ryan Webberly also had a good night at the plate. Webberly went 2-3 with an RBI and 2 runs. Webberly is now hitting .321 on the season. Number nine hitter Ryan Summers added 2 hits for the Honkers but never came around to score. William Paschal hit the walk-off single in the bottom of the 10th to send the fans at Mayo Field home happy.

Jordan Gross had another great start for the Honkers. Gross gave up just 1 run on 3 hits and 1 walk in 6.0 innings, but was handed the no decision when Matt Walker gave up 3 runs in .2 innings. Jake Sparger was able to keep the game tied for the next 2.1 innings and still has yet to give up a run this season in six appearances. Patrick Duester finished pitched the 10th and final inning for the Honkers and was awarded the win.

The Honkers will try to keep their second half dominance as they go on a road trip until Saturday. Rochester is now 25-14 on the year and just 1.5 games out of first in the North Division. This upcoming road trip is very important as the Honkers continue to make their playoff push.
