Mantorville, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Dodge County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a shooting involving a member of the Kasson Police Department. A news release issued Saturday afternoon by Sheriff Scott Rose states deputies responded to a 911 call shortly before 6:15 am from a citizen who had found a man bleeding in a grassy area near a rural Mantorville residential subdivision.

They discovered a Kasson Police Officer suffering from what appeared to have been self-inflicted gunshot wounds. He was airlifted to St. Marys Hospital, but information about his condition has not been released.

Sheriff Rose says there are no public safety concerns related to the incident. He also indicated the officer’s name and other information about the investigation will not be released until next week.
