LRT kills man in Minneapolis
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minneapolis police are investigating the death of a pedestrian hit by a light rail train.
Authorities say a man was struck at an intersection about 6 p.m. Sunday. The train speed is about 45 mph and officials say the crossing gates were operating.
KSTP-TV says the intersection in Minneapolis was closed about two hours following the incident. Passengers were transferred to a bus. This is the 10th fatal accident on the light rail line since it began operating in 2004.
