MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota Lynx forward Maya Moore has been named the Western Conference Player of the Week.

It's Moore's first player of the week award of the season and sixth of her career.

Moore scored 34 points in Minnesota's season-opening 89-77 win at Washington on May 16. She also grabbed nine rebounds.

Moore posted a double-double with 33 points and 12 rebounds as the Lynx won their home opener over Connecticut 90-87 on May 18. She also finished with five steals.

She scored a career-high 38 points — including the decisive free throws with 11.8 seconds left — and 13 rebounds in Minnesota's win at Tulsa on May 23. Moore also added 30 points in the May 24 win over New York, setting a league record by scoring 30 or more points for the fourth consecutive game.
