Cullen has won three Stanley Cups in his career, and just won back-to-back cups with the Pittsburgh Penguins. He could have retired a back-to-back champ, he could have signed for a three-peat with the Penguins, but he ultimately decided to return to Minnesota and give it one last go.

The Wild were in much need of signing another center, and they did just that by signing Cullen. He can win key draws, play big minutes if he has too, and has the experience and pedigree to win a Stanley Cup.

Cullen is a Minnesota native and played his college puck at St. Cloud State. He also previously played for the Wild from 2010-13, where he scored 91 points in 193 games.

This will be Cullen’s 20th season in the league, and he will turn 41 in November. In his career he has┬áscored 248 goals and 689 points in 1,366 regular-season games.
