MN business filings climb

More than 58,000 ( 58,260 ) filings for new businesses were processed by the Minnesota Secretary of State’s office last year - the third highest annual total ever.

The office says only 2009 ( 63,338 ) and 2012 ( 60,827 ) were higher. The 2013 total represents an increase of 17 ½ percent over the previous ten years. Secretary of State Mark Ritchie says the 2013 figure signals continued growth in the state’s economy.
