NBA Playoffs: Blazers Get Rattled

MIAMI (AP) — LeBron James scored 22 points, Chris Bosh added 18 and the Miami Heat took a 2-0 lead in their Eastern Conference semifinal series by beating the Brooklyn Nets 94-82. Dwyane Wade had 14 and Ray Allen scored 13 for the Heat, who tied a franchise record with their eighth straight playoff victory

Game 3 is Saturday night in Brooklyn.

SAN ANTONIO (AP) — The Portland Trail Blazers were clearly rattled by the San Antonio Spurs in the opener of the Western Conference semifinals, and they were almost snake bit before Game 2.

A baby rattlesnake, estimated at about 3 to 4 feet, was discovered in the team's locker room at the AT&T Center about two hours before the game Thursday. It was found by reserve forward Thomas Robinson, who recoiled a few feet after seeing the snake when he moved a bag from his locker.

San Antonio went 2-up on Portland by routing the Blazers 114-93. Kawhi Leonard scored 20 points to lead the Spurs. Tony Parker added 16 points and 10 assists. Nicolas Batum led the Blazers with 21.

The Trail Blazers host Game 3 on Saturday night.

Clippers Crawford wins award

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Clippers' Jamal Crawford has won the NBA Sixth Man Award. The 34-year-old guard is the oldest recipient and the first to win it for two different teams. Crawford won it while with Atlanta in 2009-10. Crawford led the league's reserve players in scoring this season, averaging 18.6 points.

Sterling's estranged wife wants to keep Clippers

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The estranged wife of Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling will fight to retain her 50 percent ownership stake in the team, her lawyer tells The Associated Press, adding an unwanted twist to the NBA's plan to force new ownership on the franchise.

Shelly Sterling's attorney, Pierce O'Donnell, says his client "will not agree to a forced or involuntary seizure of her interest."

O'Donnell says "we will fight vigorously to defend her property rights."

O'Donnell says Mrs. Sterling has no interest in managing the Clippers and wants a new investor group to come in with a professional management team.

The attorney says Mrs. Sterling "abhors" the racist comments made by her husband that led to his lifetime ban from the NBA. The league is trying to force the sale of the team to new owners.

O'Donnell says that Shelly Sterling has been separated from her husband for the last year and is considering divorce.
