Omaha, NE (From Big Ten Conference) - With a 3-0 win over second-seeded Texas, No. 4 Nebraska claimed the 2015 NCAA Women’s Volleyball national championship at Century Link Center in Omaha, Neb., on Saturday evening.

The title marks Nebraska’s fourth NCAA Championship, and is the third straight for a Big Ten team.The Huskers were led by Mikaela Foecke, who posted 19 kills. Nebraska claimed the first and second sets by identical 25-23 scores, before winning the decisive third set, 25-21. Amber Rolfzen posted 10 kills, while Kelly Hunter recorded 42 set assists and Justine Wong-Orantes tallied 17 digs.
Foecke was named the Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA Tournament. An NCAA record 17,561 fans attended Saturday’s match.Big Ten schools have now claimed two national titles in fall sports. The Huskers’ women’s volleyball team joins Penn State women’s soccer as national champions in 2015-16.
