Political traffic jam
TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie says he's "outraged and deeply saddened" and was misled by an aide accused of punishing the mayor of Fort Lee
for not endorsing Christie for re-election.
In emails and texts from August, Christie deputy chief of staff Bridget Anne Kelly tells Port Authority appointee David Wildstein, "Time for some traffic problems in Fort Lee."
A few weeks later, Wildstein closed two of three lanes connecting Fort Lee to the heavily traveled George Washington Bridge, creating traffic jams for four days.
Christie says it was "inappropriate and unsanctioned conduct" done without his knowledge. So far, no one has been fired for the action.
