(Rochester, Minn)-- The Rochester Honkers Baseball Club announced today the signings of Bryan Granger and John Schuknect from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo for the 2014 Northwoods League season.

Granger is a 6-foot-2, 200-pound junior right-handed pitcher from Hollister, CA. Granger has made four relief appearances so far on the season, pitching 4.0 innings, allowing one run and striking out four, while holding opponents to a .250 batting average.

As a sophomore, Granger went 5-4 with a 5.37 ERA. He was Cal Poly’s primary Sunday starter, making 13 appearances on the year, all starts, and struck out 28 in 57.0 innings of work. Granger played his summer ball for the San Luis Obispo Blues, finishing 2-0 with a 6.41 ERA, striking out 25 in 19 2/3 innings.

Schuknect is a 6-foot, 205-pound sophomore infielder from Palm Desert, CA. Currently he is hitting .194 with one home run and three RBIs. He’s made 14 appearances on the season, 9 of them starts, and has committed only one error in the infield.

As a true freshman, he started 23 games for Cal Poly, 11 in the outfield and 12 at first base. He hit .301 with four doubles and 11 RBIs. He hit .454 in his final 10 games of the season.

The Rochester Honkers 21st season begins on May 27th when the Waterloo Bucks prance into Mayo Field.
