The Rochester Amateur Sports Commission in conjunction with the American Softball Association (ASA) are excited to announce Rochester will be the site of the 2016 ASA 10B, 12A and 18A Fastpitch Northern National tournament. Rochester was awarded the bid at the ASA annual convention in Reno, NV last week.

The 2016 Northern National is set to take place August 4-7 and should draw 60-80 teams from across the Midwest. Rochester has hosted an ASA Fastpitch Northern National in each of the past six years and also will be hosting the 10A and 12B Northern Nationals in 2015.

Rochester has received national attention from ASA having been the recipient of the James Farrell award which is given to cities who have run the highest quality ASA tournaments. Rochester was awarded the James Farrell once again for their work on the 2014 Northern National.

“We are extremely thrilled to receive the news Rochester has been awarded another ASA Fastpitch Northern National Tournament in 2016” explained Ed Hruska, Executive Director of the Rochester Amateur Sports Commission. “We have been fortunate to have a great relationship with ASA and look to continue this into the future to bring events to the city of Rochester.”
