The success over the past four years for the program is quite phenomenal, certainly due to head coach Jessica Allister. But there's also one player from Rochester who's been instrumental in the team's resurgence - Sam Macken.

There's a nice article about Macken's career in the University paper, Minnesota Daily, talking about how much she's enjoying this season and how her career has evolved at Minnesota.

It's a great read about a great local athlete.

Meanwhile, the team wraps up its series with the Wildcats Sunday at Jane Sage Cowles Stadium and will be at Wisconsin next weekend.  The team is well on its way toward another Big Ten title with eyes on an even bigger prize at the NCAA's.
