After a quick visit to New York on Thursday, Sherels returned home to sign a new contract with the Vikings.

Well that got interesting for a hot minute didn't it?

when word traveled to Rochester that Sherels had flown out east to visit the New York Jets about their recent vacancy in the punt return department.  He left town without a deal, and according to reports will sign a new contract with the Vikings!

Sherels, who attended college at the University of Minnesota, signed with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent in 2010.  He's played 81 games with the team and is the all time team leader with 3 punts returned for touchdowns.

Initial reports are that it's a two year deal with the Vikings.
