Teen bypasses security to reach top of WTC
NEW YORK (AP) — A New Jersey teenager who police say bypassed security and climbed a ladder to the spire of 1 World Trade Center in the middle of the night faces trespassing charges.
Port Authority of New York and New Jersey spokesman Joe Pentangelo says 16-year-old Justin Casquejo was arrested early Sunday at the nation's tallest building.
Pentangelo says Casquejo got into the construction site of the nearly completed tower through a small fence opening. He says the teen was able to slip past an "inattentive" security guard on the 104th floor. The guard's been fired.
A friend described Casquejo as a thrill-seeking adventurer.
