A few weeks ago, The CW's proposed 'Arrow' spinoff series 'The Flash' gave us a quick peek at Grant Gustin suited up as the fastest man alive, though we really only saw the costume from the neck up. Now the network has released a full shot of Barry Allen's new duds, and he looks ready to bolt!

Still keeping somewhat more maroon than red, the full 'Flash' costume otherwise looks perfectly in line with the comics, its temple lightning bolts even jutting out from the sides of the mask a bit. The logo looks mostly on point, swapping out a white interior for a more palatable red, while the suit appears built for speed and mobility, with a few errant yellow streaks reminiscent of the character's New 52 comic book design.

Gone are the yellow boots as well, though even with a less gaudy golden design, we'd expect Oscar-winning designer Colleen Atwood (Tim Burton's 'Alice in Wonderland', 'Snow White and the Huntsman')'s take on the Scarlet Speedster is probably better off for the tweak.

With production already underway, ‘The Flash’ cast in known roles Tom Cavanagh as Harrison Wells and Candice Batton as Iris West, daughter to Jesse L. Martin’s Detective West, along with Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon, better known as DC character Vibe. ‘The Vampire Diaries‘ star Rick Cosnett will portray Central City Police transfer Detective Eddie Thawne, who likely corresponds to ‘Flash’ comic villain and time traveler Eobard Thawne, better known as “Professor Zoom” or “Reverse Flash.”

Additionally, Danielle Panabaker will play Caitlin Snow, a highly intelligent bioengineering expert who lost her fiancé during an explosion at S.T.A.R. Labs and is an incarnation of DC villain Killer Frost. Original ‘Flash’ star John Wesley Shipp has signed on to the ‘Arrow’ spinoff, as well, though producers aren’t divulging the details of his role just yet.

Time will tell if we see 'The Flash' air on The CW regardless of the network's decision to pick up the super-speedy drama, but in the meantime, take a look at 'The Flash' in all his lightning glory below. Tell us what you think of the character's new look in the comments!
