Heavy snow fell across east central Minnesota yesterday, including the Twin Cities area - although it was spotty. Some areas in the metro received a few inches, some a bit more - including downtown Minneapolis, which kept Target Field crews busy this morning getting the ballpark ready for today’s doubleheader.

The official total at the Twin Cities airport was a third of an inch - but just 40 miles to the north, more than a foot was common. The highest total reported to the National Weather Service was  20 inches near North Branch. Duluth picked up another half foot - increasing its seasonal total to almost 125 inches, only 10 inches shy of the all time record.

It appears Minnesotans may finally be in line for some real springlike weather. Forecasters say southern Minnesota could experience highs in the 60's and 70's next week.
