Tuesday’s State Tournaments Recap

State Girls Tennis

At the State Girls Class A Tennis tournament yesterday, Breck defeated Rochester Lourdes 4-3 in the opening round at the Reed-Sweat Family Tennis Center. Lourdes then defeated Staples-Motley in the consolation bracket and will take on Blue Earth for the consolation trophy at noon today.

Other first round winners included St. James, Virginia and Holy Family Catholic

In Class AA, Rochester Mayo lost to Mahtomedi 4-3 in the opening round. The Spartans beat Mounds View 7-0 in the consolation round and will face Princeton at noon today at the Baseline Tennis Center at the U of M.

Other first round winners in 2A included Edina, Prior Lake and Minnetonka

State Boys Soccer

In Class A, Rochester Lourdes opens play tonight against St. Cloud Apollo at 5:30

In Class AA, Rochester John Marshall plays Wayzata tonight at 7:30. Maple Grove and Anoka won first round games last night.

State Girls Soccer

In first round action in Class A, Dover-Eyota plays Orono tonight at 5:30 at Park High School.

In Class 2A, Eagan and Centennial were winners in quarterfinal play, two more first round games tonight.
