Vikings Address Needs in Free Agency
Normally not a player in Day 1 of free agency, the Vikings made a huge splash at the start of the new league year this week.
Although the Vikings made the playoffs and finished the year atop the NFC North for the first time since the 2009-2010 season this past year, the front office knew there was still work to be done to improve the squad as we head into 2016… and it all begins up front.
General Manger Rick Spielman knows he has to find away to solidify the offensive line. While it finished among the top 5 in rushing with Adrian Peterson earning the third rushing title of his future Hall of Fame career, the pass protection ranked near the basement and the offensive line hardly gave quarterback Teddy Bridgewater any time to throw the ball.
Enter 6’8″, 300 pound offensive guard Alex Boone.
Known for his attitude both on and off the field, Boone is certainly a solid first step in protecting Teddy… and judging by his first comments since joining the team, he plans on doing just that!
Alex Boone: “After five minutes I already love Teddy Bridgewater and will do everything I can to protect him.”

That should make Vikings fans smile for the foreseeable future!
