Brainerd, MN (KROC AM News) - A northern Minnesota man who was grouse hunting Tuesday had an experience he won’t soon forget.

According to the Brainerd Dispatch, the man was hunting near Isabella when a wolf suddenly chased his dog out of the woods and they ran within a few feet of him. The man’s dog jumped through a window of his truck and wasn’t hurt.

That’s when the man saw five more wolves come out of the woods. He fired a shot but says they didn’t even flinch. Eventually they wandered off.

The man’s 3-year-old son and a 5-year-old nephew were with him and he says they were pretty excited over the experience.

The man continued hunting - without his dog. He says it refused to get out of the truck.
