It makes me feel so much better to uplift others, speak highly of my friends, and find things that make me love living in the wonderful state of Illinois.
You could come up with a list of how awful Illinois is and bash it to no end, but that is not the case today! I'm here to give you a list of what's super cool about Illinois. Ready?
CORN
Honestly, I love corn. 85% of Illinois is covered in corn if you were curious!
WALT DISNEY
This is really cool! Walt Disney was born December 5, 1901 in Chicago. Why wasn't Disney World built in Illinois? Hmm...
THE FIRST MCDONALD'S IN DES PLAINES
The first McDonald's that opened in Illinois was the city of Des Plaines in 1955. It's now a McDonald's museum in the original location. Pretty cool history!
PERSONALIZED LICENSE PLATES
Now that I think about it... I see almost everybody in my hometown with custom license plates. Makes it pretty entertaining waiting at a long stoplight!
TALLEST MAN EVER
The tallest man was born in Illinois! Robert Pershing was born in Alton, Illinois and stood at 8 feet 11 inches tall.
WORLD'S LARGEST CATSUP BOTTLE
I had no idea this existed, did you? Located in Collinsville, Illinois this catsup bottle stands 170ft tall and was built in 1949.
DEEP DISH PIZZA
I gotta say, I have never had deep dish pizza. I feel kind of embarrassed because I've been to Chicago a thousand times and have never tried it.

Yup, you knew it was coming. Chicago is home to many Fortune 500 companies and O'Hare International Airport is also one of the busiest airports in the world!
