The Rochester School Board will be presented with an updated enrollment projection report this evening. It predicts total enrollment in the school district will rise by around 100 students next fall and will exceed 17,000 the following fall. Over the next five years, total enrollment is projected to grow by about 450 students to just under 17,340. The report notes the district is currently in a trend where elementary enrollment is increasing quickly, middle school enrollments are growing slightly, and high school enrollments have been falling slightly. Those trends are expected to continue for the next several years, except at the middle school level, where the higher elementary enrollments will have an impact as those students move move up to higher grade levels.
