Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Rochester first responders were sent to a southeast neighborhood Thursday after receiving a report of a car that had literally crashed into a house.

The call came in just after 8:00 pm from 609 14 ½ St. SE.

The Rochester Fire Dept. says “crews arrived on scene to find a vehicle that had crashed through an exterior wall and into the basement of the home.”

RFD says all occupants of the home had evacuated and were not injured. The driver of the vehicle - who was not identified - was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. Police suspect the 47-year -old Rochester man was intoxicated and took a blood sample.

RFD says it was determined that structural shoring was needed to make the home safe until it could be repaired.

A section of the block foundation wall was badly damaged and other damage was also noted.
