Another Arrest For Rochester Man’s Murder
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Olmsted County Sheriff's office is reporting a second arrest has been made in a local murder case.
Sheriff's Captain Scott Behrns says 30-year-old Muhidin Omar Abukar was arrested Wednesday afternoon for his alleged involvement in the shooting death of Garad Roble. The 28-year-old Rochester man was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds on a rural southeast Rochester road in the early morning hours of March 5th.
In 2010, Abukar was given a 14-year prison term for his involvement in the murder of another man the previous year. In that case, he pleaded guilty to a second-degree murder charge stemming from the shooting death of 30-year-old Ryan Nissalke during a robbery in the victim’s home.
A statement from the Sheriff's Office says Abukar is scheduled to be arraigned today in Olmsted County Court on a charge of Aiding and Abetting 2nd-degree murder. Another Rochester man, 23-year-old Ayub Iman, was arrested in June and faces the same charge. Captain Behrns says it’s hoped the two arrests will lead to cooperation from those who have knowledge of Roble's murder, which remains the subject of a very active investigation.
Anyone with information related to the Rochester man's murder is asked to contact Crimestoppers of Olmsted County through the website or calling 1-800-222-TIPS.
