MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A person with knowledge of the situation tells The Associated Press that Minnesota Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor met with coach Dave Joerger on Saturday, and the two sides continue to deliberate in a process that has put Joerger firmly in the driver's seat to replace Rick Adelman.

The Minnesota-born Joerger left the Twin Cities for Memphis after the meeting with no official agreement in place. The person requested anonymity because the Timberwolves are not publicly discussing their coaching search.

Joerger went 50-32 in his first season as coach of the Grizzlies, helping them to the seventh seed in the Western Conference. But Memphis owner Robert Pera is believed to be contemplating a coaching change, and he granted the Wolves permission to speak with Joerger this week.
