Are Professional Burglars Operating In Rochester?
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester homeowner called 911 Tuesday evening after his in-home surveillance system was activated and indicated two burglars were inside his residence.
Officers went to the home in the 2100 block of Fieldstone Rd SW and decided to call in the RPD emergency response team in case the burglars were still inside. The home was eventually searched and there was no sign of the intruders.
The burglars apparently came in through a rear patio door.
RPD Capt. Casey Moilanen says the home had been ransacked and the owner will submit a list of the damage and missing items. Moilanen is asking the public’s help in trying to identify the suspects.
Moilanen says there have been similar recent burglaries of local homes and businesses involving business owners and it appears the victims were targeted. He says it appears the burglars “do their homework” on their victims and learn their schedules. Moilanen says it’s possible those behind the burglaries are organized and live in the Twin Cities.
