DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Authorities say they believe three adults and two children were killed in an early morning house fire in northeast Iowa.

Ron Humphrey with the State Fire Marshal says it may take some time to positively identify the five bodies recovered from the Friday fire at a rural home near the small city of Arlington. But he says officials believe they know who was in the home.

The Fayette County Sheriff's Office received a call at 3:35 a.m. about a home on fire. Several fire crews responded and found the house fully engulfed in flames. Photos from the scene show the home was destroyed.

The bodies will be taken to the state medical examiner's office to identify them. Humphrey says that could take some time.
