Wilcox has been named the Big Ten First Star of the Week after stopping 63 of the 67 shots he saw this weekend (.940 save percentage) against the Wolverines. The Hobey Baker Award nominee made 35 saves in Friday’s 5-3 win and then followed that up a 28-save night in Saturday’s 4-1 win in the series finale. Wilcox, who leads all Big Ten goalies and ranks second nationally with 20 wins this season, allowed just two even-strength goals for the weekend. This week’s honor marks Wilcox’s fourth career accolade from the Big Ten Conference.

Fasching has been named the Big Ten Second Star of the Week after tallying three points (two goals, one assist) against the Wolverines. The freshman scored a goal in Friday’s win and then added a goal and an assist on Saturday to complete the sweep. Fasching’s 11 goals this season are tied for the Big Ten rookie goal scoring lead while the forward has 24 points this year for the Maroon & Gold. This week’s honor marks Fasching’s second career accolade from the Big Ten.

The Gophers, who are off this weekend and return to action next weekend at home against Penn State, have now earned a total of 18 weekly Big Ten honors from nine different players.
