“It’s butt cold out here, and I’m fresh out of beer.”

That iconic quote comes from the movie Grumpy Old Men, which was actually filmed at various locations around the state of Minnesota but is based in Wabasha. Every year since the movie was released in 1993, that community has thrown a big party. The dates and details for this year's "Grumpy Old Men Festival" have now been announced and the two-day event has something for everyone including delicious food, drinks, and fun events.

What Is Happening At This Year's Grumpy Old Men Festival?

Most of the activities are planned for the second day, but the event actually kicks off on Friday, February 25th with live music and a best dressed "grumpy" contest at Turning Waters/Hoppy Girl Brewing.

The activities resume on Saturday morning with "Coffee and Treats with Jan". Now, I'm not exactly sure who Jan is, but she must be very popular because this event runs from 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM.

I can almost guarantee that it will be butt cold at the Grumpy Old Men Festival, but you don't have to worry about running out of beer. You'll be able to quench your thirst at ice bars and around bonfires all day on Saturday.

The schedule for Saturday (Feb 26th) is full of events too including the popular Ice Fishing Contest which attracts hundreds of anglers from the area, a Hotdish Luncheon, a Texas Hold 'em Tournament, Bingo, and the Grumpy plunge for charity. See the full schedule below.
