No matter where you live, someone is probably going to pronounce the state you live in completely wrong.  I've learned to just live with it because it takes too much energy to try and explain the 's' is silent in Illinois.

Living in Illinois, there are some crazy city names I didn't even know existed.  Bourbonnais is one of my favorites, do the locals love bourbon? Well, I have more questionable cities in Illinois you've probably never heard of.  First, here's my 5 favorite:
