Those Red Dot Stickers Popping Up at Dollar Tree Stores May Not Be What You Think They Are
Dollar Tree is no longer living up to its name.
I get that costs are going up everywhere (hello, inflation), and I’m still grateful that Dollar Tree is affordable for a lot of things. But it’s definitely not the “everything’s a buck” experience it used to be.
If you’ve been to Dollar Tree lately, you know what I’m talking about.

While some packaging now includes the new prices, many items still don’t.
That’s where a TikTok video I came across recently comes in, and it explained something I hadn’t noticed before.
What Do the Red Dot Stickers at Dollar Tree Mean?
Those little red stickers you’re seeing on shelves and products are not random.
Both GoBankingRates and AllRecipes confirm that these red dots are meant to help identify which items have increased in price.
The articles point out that you can also usually find the updated price on the shelf tag right below the item, or sometimes on the product’s packaging itself.
Eventually, Dollar Tree plans to mark everything more clearly, but for now, the red sticker system is what they’re using to flag the changes.
So, next time you're browsing the aisles and spot a red sticker, now you know, it’s not a deal, it’s actually the opposite.
While Dollar Tree still offers plenty of budget-friendly finds, not everything on the shelves is a great deal these days. Below is a list of items you might want to skip, as they could end up costing more in the long run, or just aren't worth the savings.
