Dooley's, in Downtown Rochester, was officially open again this morning following a Covid-19 preparedness check by Olmsted County Public Health Services (OCPHS). For the next two weeks they'll be closing at midnight.

This opening follows multiple closings and openings due to Covid-19 concerns. On Friday last week we reported on a 72-hour mandatory shut down.

Dooley's Pub, in Downtown Rochester, has closed for the third time, this time due to repeated violations of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz’s Executive Order 20-74 regarding Covid-19 precautions.

OCPHS staff says the violations include lack of physical distancing by staff and customers, lack of mask-wearing by staff and customers, and failing to restrict the number of building occupants to 50% or less of the normal occupancy requirement. Read More: Dooley's Pub Ordered To Close Again for COVID-19 Violations

According to Olmsted County, "all documents, plans, and logs were updated to cover key controls and ensure enforcement of their COVID-19 Preparedness Plan. All managers signed off on the updates and employees were notified of the changes and provided additional education. Several modifications have been made within the bar to help ensure proper physical distancing and customer compliance, among other policy and procedural improvements."

The county's Environmental Health team will continue to work with and support Dooley’s to both remain open and minimize risk related to COVID-19 for staff and patrons during this pandemic.
