Drunk Guy Caught Driving Stolen Excavator

The Minnesota State Patrol is reporting the arrest of a northern Minnesota man on vehicle theft and drunk driving charges. While that’s not all that unusual, the circumstances in this case were far from ordinary. A spokesman says the 27-year-old man from Proctor was driving a giant Caterpillar excavator on a sidewalk in Duluth around 3:30 Thursday morning. The State Patrol says Dustin Lunde, who admitted stealing the heavy construction equipment, had his blood-alcohol-concentration tested at over twice the legal limit.
