Rochester, MN (KROC AM News - A former University of Minnesota-Rochester professor who was sent to prison for a child pornography conviction is in trouble again.

Rochester police began investigating 53-year-old Christopher Dezutter last month after it was learned there were pornographic images on his phone. The discovery was made through a monitoring app that had been installed on Dezutter’s phone as part of his probation.

According to the criminal complaint, “Dezutter said that he had a relapse and only looked at child pornography one time. He searched for the images. “ He also told the investigator he “estimated that he looked at less than twelve images.”

Dezutter was taken into custody for violating his probation. He has since been arraigned on seven felony pornography-related charges.

Dezutter was sentenced to 4 years in prison in 2017 for a child porn conviction. That case was filed while he was on probation for a 2015 child porn conviction.

News update: The Rochester School Board approves a partial return-to-classroom plan.
