MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — No. 1 Minnesota hosts No. 9 Boston University in the quarterfinal round of the 2014 National Collegiate Women's Ice Hockey Championships this weekend.

The two teams face off at 4:07 p.m. Central time Saturday at Ridder Arena.

The Golden Gophers are top seed in the 2014 NCAA postseason and advanced to the national tournament after earning the Western Collegiate Hockey Association's automatic bid as the WCHA Final Face-off champions.

Minnesota has qualified for the tournament for the seventh straight year. The Gophers enter the 2014 championship as back-to-back national champions and are on a 24-game unbeaten streak, at 23-0-1.

The Gophers beat the Terriers 6-3 to win the 2013 national championship game and their second straight national title. Minnesota is 2-0-0 all-time against Boston University.
