Governor Walz has a press conference scheduled for Friday. He'll update everyone on the state's handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and will be "turning the dial" to loosen restrictions. Walz spoke to reporters Thursday and said it would be the biggest turn of the dial yet.

Minnesota is headed in the right direction with COVID cases down and the number of vaccines administered climbing significantly. You can learn more about the COVID-19 vaccine below.

So what can we expect to hear? Bring Me The News is reporting that the Governor's announcement will allow fans back into sporting events which is good news for Twins' fans hoping to catch a game at Target Field.

The governor is also expected to speak about proms and graduation ceremonies. Walz told MPR News, "I think for proms that happen into May, and certainly graduations in June or whenever they’re looking at, I certainly envision that those will look pretty close to normal."

Face masks might be required and crowd sizes may be limited for events but this is definitely some good news.

You'll be able to hear the Governor tomorrow on News Talk 1340 KROC-AM and 96.9 FM. The exact time of the press conference hasn't been announced yet so follow KROC News on Facebook for updated info. You can also listen on krocnews.com and on the KROC News app.
