Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A man described by Rochester police as a significant drug dealer has pleaded guilty.

27-year-old Vilay Phayvahn yesterday admitted to a second-degree charge involving the sale of 10 kilos or more of marijuana. He was originally charged with two additional felony counts involving the sale of illegal drugs, including a first-degree charge.

Phayvanh was arrested in 2018 as a result of an investigation by Rochester Police that included assistance from the FBI. The charges against him were connected to allegations involving the distribution and selling of marijuana and cocaine in the Rochester area dating back to December 2014.

Court documents indicate Phayvanh told investigators the drugs came in shipments from California and that he used some of the proceeds to purchase a vehicle detailing business in Rochester for $40,000. He owned the business for about a year and then sold it.

Phayvanh is scheduled to be sentenced in January
