Gustavus Adolphus College Elects First Woman President
ST. PETER, Minn. (AP) — Gustavus Adolphus College has named its next president, and for the first time in the school's 152-year history, that president is a woman.
Rebecca Bergman will be Gustavus' 17th president when she takes over on July 1.
Bergman has been a member of the college's Board of Trustees since 2007. She is currently vice president of research, technology and therapy delivery systems for Fridley-based medical device maker Medtronic.
Bergman is a graduate of Princeton University and studied at the University of Minnesota.
