Waseca Officer Matson Verbalizes Message to His Wife: ‘Happy Anniversary, Megan. I Love You’

Waseca, MN (KROC AM News) - Tuesday was the wedding anniversary of the Waseca police officer who continues to recover after being shot in the head last month.

And he was able to verbalize a message to his wife about their special day.

According to the latest update on the recovery of Officer Arik Matson, he was able to tell his wife “Happy anniversary, Megan. I love you.”

He also ate some chocolate pudding - the first time he was able to feed himself since being shot.

Matson is now recuperating at a long term care center.

The man who is charged with shooting Matson made his first court appearance Tuesday.
