Honkers Disappoint in Season Opener
Eau Claire, Wis.--The Rochester Honkers season opened tonight, and experienced a great performance. From the opposing starting pitcher. The Honkers gave up two runs in the first inning, charged to Honkers starter Erik Cha, on a Tyler Jones RBI single and error giving the Express a 2-0 lead. Their lead was then expanded by Jones again in the 3rd with a two-run double.
Cha finished his start giving up four runs, three of them earned, in four innings with four strikeouts.
A lone bright spot offensively for the Honkers was found in Christopher Scalisi, the junior second baseman from Woodland Hills, California, who went 2-4.
