(Rochester, MN)– The Rochester Honkers Northwoods League baseball team announced today the signing Jordan Richartz and LJ Brewster from the University of Hawaii for the 2014 Northwoods League Season.

Richartz is a 6-foot, 210-pound junior outfielder who comes to the University of Hawaii from Bellevue Community College in Washington.  He finished his sophomore season at Bellevue leading his team in average (.390) doubles (19), RBI (40) and stolen bases (24).  He also drew 20 walks and went errorless in the outfield in 47 games.  For his efforts he earned first team all-league and all-regional honors and was a second team All-American selection.

Brewster is a 6-foot-2, 205-pound sophomore infielder from Huntington Beach, CA.  He saw limited action as a freshman, playing in 15 games and starting seven.  Brewster hit .138 with 3 RBIs but did not commit a single error in the infield.  A 2012 graduate of Huntington Beach High School, Brewster was voted team MVP as a freshman and sophomore, and finished his senior season hitting .343.

The University of Hawaii kicks off their 2014 season hosting a four-game series this weekend against No. 6 ranked Oregon Ducks in the Outrigger Opening Series.  Hawaii and Oregon have opened their last four seasons against each other at Les Murakami Stadium in Honolulu, HI.
