Ready to Eat? Here’s Where You Can Find Illinois’ Best Burrito
Other than a gyro from Uncle Nick's in Rockford, I can't think of a better food to polish off a long night than a burrito.
Ah yes, a delicious, and often stomach-filling burrito can be the best thing.
Don't ask me about the next day, because we're living in the present right now and right now I'm planning my weekend, and if it's going to be one of those kinds of weekends, a late-night burrito is in my future.
Luckily for me, one of the best burritos in America is not far from where I live, and honestly, right down the street in my old neighborhood.
I grew up in Chicago and lived on the north side of the city, and this Mexican restaurant isn't far from my childhood home.
At Taqueria El Asadero, apparently, they serve up the best burrito. Not just Chicago, Rockford, or the suburbs, but the entire state.
Lovefood's list of the Best Burrito in Every State says the Carne Asada Burrito at Taqueria El Asadero is the choice.
At this dinky, cash-only taqueria you'll find a carne asada burrito that’s brimming with flavorful meat, onion, cilantro, lettuce, tomato and cheese (if you choose to add it into the mix). It’s already big but, if you want it fully stuffed, you can pay a little more for extras such as rice, beans, jalapeños, sour cream and guacamole.
Taqueria El Asadero has been reviewed over 600 times on Yelp, and they rate 4 out of 5 stars.
Joe M. says the restaurant has "Phenomenal Carne Asada." while Mac W. mentions Taqueria El Asadero offers the "Best Carne Asada I have ever had."
However, there are some complaints, like from Sam C. who said "16 dollars (including tax) for a burrito? Don't get me wrong their burritos are good but not for that price."
It's a steep price to pay no doubt, but it is the best burrito in Illinois.
Either way, you can check out Taqueria El Asadero at 2213 West Montrose in Chicago.
