Is This Hilarious ‘Illinois Towns as Sounds’ Tik Tok Video Spot On?
It's a bit astonishing how quickly a sound or music can influence your emotions. In an instant, I think the same thing will happen to you when watching this.
Illinois Tik Toker, @justinmeyers._, pretty much strictly shares content about Illinois. Just a few days ago, a friend sent me one of his videos, and I loved it. Before I fall into a Tik Tok rabbit hole watching all of his stuff, let me share with you.
Illinois Towns As Sounds
The video shows you three Illinois cities at a time and you'll hear a short clip of a song or a sound effect that he believes best describes the towns.
I want to know if you think he nailed it. Also, I need a little help with one of them because I can't really identify the music and it sounds like it came from SpongeBob Squarepants.
Did you get all that? What emotions did you have? Did he nail it?
First up, were Crystal Lake, Geneva, and New Lenox. Got the country hillbilly vibe from the song.
These next three towns took some heat from @justinmeyers._ The message in the music was clear, drugs and gangs.
The next three cities in his video are where I don't think I'm feeling the emotion from the music. It sounds like music from an episode of SpongeBob, but I'm not sure.
What's he trying to say about Arlington Heights, Aurora, and Champaign? Aurora just topped a list of the best cities to live out the American dream.
Spot on with the traffic noise, although Chicago is much worse than Rockford and Peoria.
I completely got the charming, sleepy little town vibes on the next three towns.
I get the feeling that life ain't so grand in these last three towns.
I lived in Springfield in the early 90s and I can confirm that at that time there wasn't much to do for fun.
I'm digging your work, Justin. Looking forward to more Illinois Towns as Sounds.
