Illinois, Wisconsin We Don’t Quit Like Most of U.S., Study Shows

A new survey by a global finance expert has revealed the states where people are quitting their jobs in large numbers, and you may be surprised where Wisconsin and Illinois land on the list.

According to a press release, the data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics on the quit rates in each state was taken from July to October 2022 and showed:

• National quit rate each month is 2.68%, representing more than four million people leaving their jobs every month

The state where people are quitting the most is Alaska with 4.33% of people in that state quit their jobs during the 4 months that were measured for the survey. That's an average of 13,750 people quitting every month in Alaska, a state with a population under 800,000.

Georgia was second on the list with a 3.85% quitter rate followed by Montana at 3.60.

What's the quit rate in the Midwestern states?

According to the stats in this survey, Illinois was #43 overall and has the lowest quitter rate of the states in the Midwest with 2.4% of people leaving their jobs every month (during the 4-month survey period), which is below the national average of 2.68%.

Right behind Illinois is Michigan (2.43%) at #42 and Wisconsin (2.48%) at #41.
