Loving Girl Scouts Deliver So Many Boxes of Cookies to Austin, Minnesota Nursing Home
There are three ways to get Girl Scout Cookies in Minnesota.
- a) Buy them.
- ii) Be on the radio and beg for them (my personal favorite)
- 3) Be one of the Seniors at Austin's Good Samaritan Comforcare!
The Girl Scouts, from St. Ansgar, Iowa, trekked the 26 or so miles north to Austin, Minnesota, and hand-delivered the cookies to each resident.
I got in touch with one of the St Ansgar Girl Scout leaders, Sarah Nelson, and she said the Director of Nursing at Austin's Good Samaritan Comforcare reached out to her with the idea. Good Samaritan paid for the cookies, and the girls delivered them.
"So what we did is we went in and we actually were able to visit with each of the residents and they gave 'em a coloring picture. And then each resident got to pick one box of cookies that they could have at no cost to them. That's really the joyful part of it."
Different Generations Interacting with Love
Sarah continued, "...we were able to hear many different stories from some of the older generations that were Girl Scouts when they were younger or were also leaders and share some of the opportunities that they had."
Click play to hear the conversation AND to hear Sarah Nelson's daughter, a Brownie with the troop, talk about the best story she heard during delivery.

How many rooms did they visit? 45! A tremendous act of love.

Do Research Shows Being A Girl Scout Can Improve Your Grades
I'm sure some of these were written by adults, but I'm pretty sure some pretty witty students may have had a hand in most of them.
